A busy January 2026 for RaceSense

If this is how the year starts, we’re more than happy to buckle up.

January alone puts 22 events (yes, 22!) on the RaceSense calendar. Not a bad way to open the season. The racing stretches from Australia to Europe, from the Americas down to Africa, and it gives a pretty clear picture of how active the one-design scene is right now everywhere, all at once.

It’s not just about numbers, though. What really stands out is the mix. In the space of a single month we’re following J/24s, J/70s, Etchells and Melges, alongside M32s, Melges 19s, VX Ones, Thistles, MC Scows, and plenty more. National championships sit next to winter series, long-standing classics next to newer events. Different formats, different fleets, same month.

Australia is busy with major championships, Europe keeps its winter rhythm going, the US circuit is fully up and running, and South Africa makes its presence felt too. Different hemispheres, different conditions, same mindset: get on the water and go racing.

After a really solid 2025, this feels like a good place to start. The calendar is full, the classes are varied, and there’s no shortage of places to line up on a starting line.

So yes, the year gets going quickly and that’s never a bad thing.
If January is any indication, there’s plenty to look forward to.
